Mr Loverman – Lennie James leads the BBC adaptation

The drama, tailored from Bernardine Evaristo’s e-book, will develop into an eight-part drama sequence. 

The BBC have introduced that they’ve commissioned an adaptation of Bernardine Evaristo‘s acclaimed 2013 novel Mr Loverman.

Described as a life-affirming story about household, love, and being true to your self, the story centres on its exuberant protagonist, Barrington Jedidiah Walker. Bringing “Barry” to life is Lennie James (Save Me, Line of Obligation).

Barrington Jedidiah Walker, Esq. Barry to his mates. Hassle to his spouse, his daughters, and his lover. Seventy years previous, Antiguan born, exuberant Hackney character, Barry is famend for his dapper style and fondness for retro fits. Carmel, his spouse of fifty years, senses that Barry has been dishonest on her with different girls.
