Writer AA Dhand will adapt his personal Virdee detective novels for the BBC.
The BBC have a brand new detective sequence forthcoming, with Sacha Dhawan (Physician Who, Wolf) taking the lead position of Detective Harry Virdee. The present was introduced on the Edinburgh TV Competition’s Highlight on the BBC session.
Set in Bradford, author AA Dhand adapts his personal Virdee novels. To date, there have been 4; Streets of Darkness, Woman Zero, Metropolis of Sinners and One Approach Out.

The sequence introduces Detective Harry Virdee (Sacha Dhawan), a Bradford cop disowned by his Sikh household for marrying Saima, who’s Muslim. Harry struggles with the abandonment, continuously trying to reunite together with his household. Together with his private life in chaos, he should search out a killer concentrating on the Asian group.
When the assassin kidnaps an area MP’s daughter in Bradford and holds the complete metropolis to ransom, Harry realises that he’s going to want the assistance of his brother-in-law Riaz, a medication kingpin who runs the most important cartel within the county. Pulled collectively in an alliance that might break them each, Harry should make a selection: save himself and his household or save his metropolis. He won’t be able to do each.

The sequence’ government producers are Paul Trijbits, AA Dhand and Jo McClellan for the BBC. The producer is Stella Nwimo (Gangs of London), co-producers are Gareth Coulam Evans, Callum Dodgson, Sylvie Richards and Karl Corridor.
